The economic food chain, where the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. Those at the top have it easy and get the lions share. Social stratification has been a topic of debate for many generations and especially seems to come to the forefront during election years. Presidential hopefuls make promises that their policies will better support the needs of the middle class.
In 2011, fed up with the disparities among social classes, the nation caught “Occupy” fever. Hoards of people sat in front of Wall Street and state capitol buildings protesting the 1%. Searching for some type of level playing field. Showcasing the jaded relationship between the social classes.
Do you know how much money you have to make to be in the top 1%?
It varies slightly based on the article you read, but it is roughly around $400,000.00 a year. The problem with these articles is that they focus on INCOME not NET WORTH.
This paradigm in itself shows the flaw in the way the middle class views and approaches money. The real 1% are not worried about how much annual income they bring in. Their focus is on gaining net worth. Investments. While they are gaining net worth we are focused on our paycheck, hoping we get our 3% cost of living increase this year.
Your focus should not be how much income you bring in. Your focus must be how much you increase your net worth!
$400,000.00 a year really isn’t that much. It is more attainable that we allow ourselves to believe. We are so stuck on getting a pay raise we never stop to think if our efforts would be more fruitful somewhere else.
Think about it this way.
You have 2 blogs that bring in $4,500 a month, and 5 investment properties that make $2,000 a month each, you earn $228,000 a year. That is over half and I didn’t say anything about having a job. Now you are an entrepreneur, a business owner. Now you have net worth. $228k may not put you in the 1%, but I bet you wouldn’t be mad about it.
Your only in your current situation because you allow yourself to be! This idea that we are stuck in the world we are born into may be the single most limiting belief on the planet. You have so much opportunity at your finger tips, an unlimited amount of information. I personally learned how to build a website from Youtube videos in 6 weeks and started an online business that is earning me extra income. I have increased my net worth.
You can learn literally anything online. But you have to put in the work. You won’t wake up tomorrow and own 2 online businesses and 5 investment properties just because you change your view of money. It takes strategic thinking and effort that aligns with that thinking. That means, setting clear High Emotional Value Goals, and working towards them everyday!
Do yourself a favor and stop dwelling in limiting BS (Belief Systems). Go out and work towards building your net worth, towards moving up the ladder, towards living the life you want to live. Stop limiting yourself through your paycheck!
